Our second Millésime release launches once more in the form of our integrated steel sports watch, Perception, this time featuring a natural Pietersite dial. The edition comes in 904L steel that has been finished with our brand's characteristic attention to detail.

The 2025 Millésime, Perception 漩 (Xuán), launches as a time-limited edition. It is available to pre-order throughout the order window, and all orders placed within the window will be fulfilled.

Order process & Delivery information

  • The order window for Perception 漩 (Xuán) runs from 28 January 2026 at 11:00 HKT, GMT +8, through to 6 February 2026, 11:00 HKT, GMT +8.
  • The delivery of the watches will be staggered in two batches, with the first 225 pieces delivering in Q2, 2026, and all subsequent orders delivering in Q4, 2026.
  • The casebacks of the first 225 pieces will be individually and sequentially numbered (i.e. 001, 002, 003/225), and will be marked with our engraved Millésime seal in black lacquer.
  • All subsequent orders will have their serials reset and be individually and sequentially numbered (i.e. 001, 002, 003/XXX). They will also be marked with a different seal that will distinguish their batch.
  • All orders will ship DDU with the exception of orders placed from the USA, which will ship DDP with a surcharge of 6% on account of ongoing tariffs.

A stony dial of flowing water

The iridescent textures of Perception 漩 (Xuán)’s pietersite dial represent the very first time that the brand has ventured to incorporate stonework into one of our releases, with the experimental nature of the Millésime edition being the perfect canvas for this introduction.

The organic textures of each pietersite slab mean that each dial has its own distinct character, and is entirely unique to each individual watch.

The Landscapes of Chinese Architecture

When Perception was first conceived, its chief inspirations were the traditional cues found throughout Chinese architecture. A key feature of many traditional Chinese architectural compounds was the presence of 盆景 (pén jǐng), or landscape gardens which were placed at the heart of a home or courtyard to serve as visual and symbolic centres.

The choice of Pietersite, with its deep blue-black tones and swirling patterns, naturally echoes the visual imprint and spirit of 山水盆景 (shānshuǐ pénjǐng), or mountain-water landscape gardens, the oldest and most classical renditions of such gardens. Its swirling patterns mimic their cascading streams, and its foundational bands of dark quartz evoke the weathered rock faces rising from those waters.

The Millésime Editions

The French word “Millésime” is most frequently employed in winemaking nomenclature and denotes a particular year or “vintage”. The Millésime edition was launched as a yearly, limited and community-driven timepiece that allows Atelier Wen the freedom of a blank canvas on which the brand can try out its boldest, most experimental and/or requested-for configurations of existing collections.

These will release in the form of a yearly limited edition that will prioritise the community in its format. Once gone, they will never be available again — thereby reflecting and upholding the idea of a yearly vintage.

As Perception 漩 (Xuán) is a Millésime edition, the Atelier Wen community was given early-access to the release prior to launch. Join the community to be notified of future early-access windows.

About Perception

Our integrated sports watch offering, Perception, draws upon traditional cues in Chinese architecture, reinterpreting them in sleek, contemporary form. Its case and bracelet subtly reference the sloping rooftops and hexagonal windows of Chinese palaces and pagodas, and its dial structure harks back to the ancient Chinese methodology of building construction, 榫卯 (sǔn mǎo), which relies on friction and imbrication to join beams together without wood or glue.

These architectural cues are complemented by tastefully incorporated traditional motifs. These take shape in the form of the beautiful 回纹 (huí wén) pattern — that doubles as Perception’s chapter ring, and the stylised face of a stone lion on the caseback which extends the architectural concept through its traditional role as the guardian statue standing watch outside important buildings and monuments.
